Global leaders gathered virtually this year at the World Economic Forum’s Davos Agenda 2021 meeting from January 25-29, 2021, committed to working together to shape the principles, policies and partnerships needed for building a more inclusive, cohesive and sustainable future as soon as possible.

Fluxus is a member of the Forum’s Platform on Shaping the Future of the Internet of Things and Urban Transformation, Projects on The Future of Real Estate: Driving An Industry Transition, Infrastructure 4.0, 5G Global Accelerator, Accelerating Digital Transformation, and Business of Data.

During the Davos Agenda meeting, Fluxus CEO Fanyu Lin participated in discussions centred around advancing Stakeholder Capitalism by implementing environmental, social and governance (ESG) metrics, advancing Sustainable Cities, and harnessing the Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies for the benefit of all stakeholders.

Dialogues amongst heads of state and of government from the G20, international organizations and business leaders spurred new ways of collaborating, assessed the roles of stakeholder capitalism and digital transformation in the pursuit of the future of humankind from tackling COVID-19 to climate change. The consensus of the group is that collaboration is the way forward.

For the set of universal ESG metrics proposed by the Forum’s International Business Council to go beyond pilot and goodwill, it needs not only to be adopted by business leaders, but also to be embedded into the harmonized investment standards and translated into policies, which requires endorsements from the investment communities and governments.

“Cities account for 70% of the planet’s carbon dioxide emissions, largely due to energy use in buildings and mobility.” The transition to a net-zero carbon future, while ensuring urban affordability, job creation, health and system resilience is at the center of the discussion on shaping the post-COVID cities. While digital technologies can play a key positive role in realizing a new urban future, in order to validate the long-term economic, social and environmental return on investments in digital transformation, we need scale and incentive alignment, we need to aggregate demands for reaching the critical mass to trigger investment cycle to accelerate decarbonization.

Fluxus is committed to advancing global housing solutions to improve quality of life through a new way of delivering affordable, energy-efficient and healthy homes across the economic spectrum by implementing smart methods of construction, where measurable ESG metrics are woven into the value chain for creating new homes.
